“Camphill Ghent does a fine job acclimating people to senior life. Everyone is extremely friendly. It starts when you walk in the door the first time
and it stays that way.”
Walter B, Adult Home Resident
Visit Camphill Ghent and drive up the paved roadway that circles the independent living residences. At the top of the hill, visitors arrive at the beautifully designed Adult Home. The views from the top of the hill are stunning and residents enjoy the panorama of the four seasons.
Camphill Ghent’s Adult Home is for individuals who require support and care in daily living and also want to be part of community life. We offer a mix of housing, supervision, personal care and individually tailored support services. Residents enjoy and participate in a variety of activities that meet the body, soul and spirit needs.
Our Adult Home promotes wellness: gardening and pathways encourage residents to be active outdoors and walk from building to building.
The following services are available based on the need of each resident:
The Adult Home includes 31 private rooms complete with a private bathroom and shower, individually controlled heating and a call system to alert the care staff in case of an emergency. The interiors are focused on using ample natural light that opens to beautiful views of nature and lively colors to engage the senses. A café, library and Community Room are provided for residents’ use. Our chef – trained at the Culinary Institute of America – and his kitchen staff serve nutritious meals that include home-grown vegetables.
Within our fully licensed Adult Home, we are committed to providing a standard of care that meets or exceeds the regulated requirements of the New York State Department of Health. Additionally, special legislation allows Adult Home residents expanded possibilities to “age in place.” In some cases, this could alleviate the need for transfer to a facility providing a higher level of care.
It is a joyous and dynamic place to be, surrounded by people who truly care about each other!
